Dear Sangoma folks, thank you

I just wanted to say thank you for the really great assistance that you’ve been providing here.

I know here on the ground in Seattle we’ve been doing everything we can to get people home and working so they can stay healthy and still earn some money. We, like other IT staff/providers have had an unprecedented amount of reconfig/home setup work as a result. Much of it having to be done remotely in order to stay healthy ourselves.

It’s not much, and it’s something that we can do to help the infection rate, even if it’s tiny, and I go to bed at night feeling drained, but grateful to be able to contribute.

Chris D, a couple times now you’ve quickly responded to help me when I’d made a dumb mistake, the kind I normally wouldn’t, except I’m tired and this isn’t normal.

So to all the Sangoma folks, and community folks who’ve been going above and beyond to help, thank you.

Call Parking Issues

@tgipson wrote:

Hello,

I have had customer request the use of the Parking App via a BLF. Technically it has always been there as a feature, but they could not remember the code. So, in configuring the BLF via Commercial EDM, I have tried a couple of different things.

On the Sangoma S705 I am using the PhoneApp for Parking. That seems to work correctly every time. I get the attended transfer message and extension and the Sangoma Phone disconnected the call.

On the Digium Phones, I have still just using the Commercial EDM without DPMA. I tried using the rest apps XML call but that does not work at all. I get a “Loading” Message on the phone and then it times out. I am not sure if Digium phones now have access to the PhoneApps module included for free since Digium is now a part of Sangoma (and thats how they handled the free version of EDM).

So, I went back to the phone and created a BLF with the key code of *270. That is not working the way I read on the setttings page that it would. So, I went back and set the BLF to 70. Now, the call is parked and I get the Attended Annoucement, but neither of the calls disconnect on the phone that dial 70. So, I have 2 different lines occupied, I am getting hold music on both phones, and I can grab the parked call on another phone but again, the phone that dialed 70 to park the other call, still shows the original call and the call to park on the screen with active timers for both.

Can anyone explain to me if the Digium phone should have access to the PhoneApps for free and what is going on with the park feature? Is it an issue with the DTMF tones or something with the app itself?

I am using a fully updated (yesterday) Freebpx 40 appliance. Digium D60 & D65 phones.
PBX Firmware:12.7.6-2002-2.sng7 PBX Service Pack:1.0.0.0
Asterisk 13.32.0

Thank you,
Terance

FreePBX Appliances can't upgrade

Just had my second FreePBX appliance that I tried to upgrade from 13 to 14 and it just stalls at Probing EDD… with a blinking cursor.

Other people have had this example:

Does anyone have any intelligence on why this happens and what the fix may be? The prior system and now this one today I’ve had to totally re-install the FreePBX Distro 13 and then restore the system backup.

I have none of these problems on any freepbx system I build on my own hardware.

This is the only system I have with an analog card in it and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to configure the card in the gui. according to the wiki is should have auto detected the fxo ports.

Can someone point me in the right direction here?

Sangoma,

I have a sangoma vega 200 team that receives an e1 and is sending it to a pbx, the audios are being Inband but they are arriving distorted to the pbx and they cannot be detected, how did the vega send the outband audios?

I found this field, if I leave it on, I already force the tones to go outband or should I have other parameters present? (set .media.pkt_profile.1.data.out-of-band-dtmf=“off”)

I can manually configure the basic setting and make and receive calls, but attempts to connect to the provisioning server (Same IP as the voice server) can’t connect and times out. The FreePBX server is hosted on Cyberlynk. Any solutions would be appreciated

Leading Zero Missing from Caller Line Identity

@Flurd wrote:

I have a Sangoma Vega 200G ISDN-SIP Gateway connected to PBXact with a SIP trunk and the caller’s telephone number is missing the leading zero. There are many very similar posts about this issue but none have an actual step by step fix.

From the other posts it looks like I need to get the inbound trunk to go through a custom dialplan prepend a zero if necessary but none of the replies actually say how to do this. If this is the only approach then can you please tell me:

  1. How do I direct a trunk to a custom configuration from Modules->Trunks->MYTRUNKNAME
  2. How do I create a custom dialplan to prepend the zero if it’s missing? I can see examples of dialplan script in the forum but not where I actually type this in the PBXAct web GUI.

I have PBXact v14.0.13.26.

Thanks

Hello,

I’m trying to configure my remote phones to register through my Sangoma SBC to my PBXact. I already followed all documentation and videos about the proper configuration for Remote Phones but i’m still getting error “404 Not Found” with my pjsip extensions registration. I do can register the phones on the local network no problem but not from the outside.

See example when i try to register remotely through the SBC ( No Endpoint Found ) but then next i try to register to the PBXact directly locally and its reachable:

Also i did some packet capture the remote registration through the SBC gets rejected. (New user so i cant post more than one image now).

**This is my first configuration. I’m sure i committed some config errors but not sure where. Please any advice on what to look for first.

Thanks!

Anyone have any idea how to remove phones from the Sangoma Portal. We have a load of S300s that we sold aftermarket and now want to remove them from the portal, but no option to do that.
According to the Wiki there should be a Manage button by the MAC address, but we don’t see that.
Just have a option to edit redirection settings, and nothing in there to delete

Add virtual nic Sangoma software sbc

I have downloaded and set up the Sangoma software sbc in VMware. I have ordered the licensing but in the meantime am running with the 2 free licenses.

Post install I added 2 virtual nics which show up in the network tab as down but I am unable to find where I can add them to the network settings. Obviously the Centos OS sees them. How do I get them to be configurable in the SBC web gui?

Does anyone else have issues with the speed of iSymphony?

$

@a0429 wrote:

Having deployed many PBXs, I thought I would give iSymphony a go since it became an increasing requriement in the company I work at. It was between iSymphony and FOP2 based off iSymphony offering a support model with their software.

Unfrotunately, I really wish I never decided to go for iSymphony purely because the software is not fit for purpose and the support team is extremely unhelpful and do not reply.

iSymphony licence model:

  • we have a 1000 user license (only ~800 users in the PBX)
  • 16 queues setup in iSymphony.

The infrastructure:

  • 12vCPU
  • 16GB RAM

We used to run the setup where one receptionist and one call centre manager would login. Due to the requirement of them needing to see all extensions in the system (and the poor license model that requires a license for every extension in the system, rather than every user logging into iSymphony).

We then split a dashboard into multiple tabs - to split departments up. With this setup, the software is unusable. I have sent multiple support files where a memory leak was spotted.

After deploying a patch, I am afraid to say that it is no better, therefore we reduced the number of dashboards in the system (we were told that it would cause the java process issues if multiple dashboards were set since it pulls the information each time, rather than just pulling the subset of information in the filter)

Does anyone use iSymphony v3 in a similar setup? If so, I am keen to identify how it is setup and how many users use it? Does it run poorly as it does for me? What options have to exhausted to try and make the application work to a usable degree?

Thanks for any light shed on this subject.
