Hey guys,

I’m looking to buy a few headsets that are known to be compatible with Digium D40, D50 and D70 (the models we use).

Any recommendation?

Also, any reliable and cost efficient store to buy that ships to Quebec, Canada?

Thanks!

Area code blocked - but not by the system

Have a PBXact with Sangoma phones installed. Recently they are trying to call a number in (515) area code Iowa and am getting a recorded voice saying it is blocked. I do have a blacklist outbound route with many of the “bad” area codes but 515 is not in that list

I don’t see any record on my SIP carrier that it is getting blocked, and Ive tried calling it from other systems using the same carrier, and the call goes through. I added 515 to my blacklist, and I get a popup on the phone saying DECLINED, so I really don’t think it’s coming from the system, but I’ve got nothing to prove it one way or the other

Is there a way in pbxact to watch progress of calls to see how far the call is getting? I remember some command on the console that showed all the sip traffic and connections but can’t find what it was. I want to say ngrep or something similar but that’s not helping

Sangoma Paid Support

Hi Guys,

Will Sangoma’s paid support troubleshoot my firewall, switch, DSL modem, Yealink phones along with my FreePBX or will they only help with their products? I have a complicated issue and I need someone that can look at the entire picture. I have only used Sangoma paid support once and it was for an issue on the PBX. Does anyone know this before I pay $400 for a support call only to find out they won’t look at my other equipment. Thanks.

Has anyone had any success registering a Cisco CP7941G with SIP firmware or similar Cisco model phone to FreePBX via the Sangoma Vega ENP? I am able to get some other phones to work but the correct configuration on the CP79XX phones escape me.

I’ve tried setting the outboundProxy, the proxy on the line, etc.

Single SSD in many PBXact appliance models

@dkmortensen wrote:

How has the reliability been for everyone with the PBXact appliances with no RAID (only 1 SSD)? I have deployed one so far 2.5 years ago. No problems so far. We are getting ready to sell another one, but I am a bit uneasy with a single SSD. We’ve had SSD’s fail in the past. My prior FreePBX boxes we always did RAID1 via md RAID.

Any feedback folks can share on this would be much appreciated. I’d prefer to use the Sangoma appliance for support purposes. Just not comfortable with the idea of a single SSD failure creating a really bad (and expensive warranty) day for me (and an unhappy customer).

Thanks in advance for any feedback on this topic.

Is it possible for a digium phone to subscribe its voicemail specific red LED to another extension’s voicemail or the voicemail of a virtual extension?

I’ve been doing some reading of the various says of sharing a voicemail inbox but what I’m after (may not be possible) is for a receptionist to be able to share the boss’s voicemail natively on her phone so that they’re both working from the same mailbox and preserves visual voicemail.

No worries if not possible.

Hello,

Sangoma Portal mentions PBXact software only licence (more precisely PBXT-SWR-0050 is 800$ for 50 users).
Where can I read about available options for software updates, if such thing exists ? How does it works ?

Best regards

Current PBXact 75 system. When using the System Admin>Power options to Reboot, the machine just powers down and needs to be manually restarted. I think I’ve seen this elsewhere, but its definitely happening on this machine consistently. I have not had the opportunity to try a restart via SSH, though I am assuming its got to be fairly similar.

Anyone else ever run not this?

If I move this install HD and Sangoma A200 card back to the old DELL T20 everything works.

Someone suggested that since the T40 does not support Bios BOOT mode only EFI it has problems detecting the A200 PCI card.

Would a PCIe A200 work?

Or am I looking in the wrong place?

Completely new mobile integration for FreePBX. A call to support from the community

@arroinie wrote:

Hey all,

We’ve built a completely new mobile integration that works out-of-the-box with any version of FreePBX and we would love to hear your feedback!

While you can love Zulu or not the idea of having a mobile and desktop apps completely integrated with your IP PBX is a great one.

Nevertheless, we started our project without having any idea about Zulu, we just knew that nowadays those who have phone systems without native mobile integrations would have problems of setting up their systems to enable remote work for their employees and team members.

And problem #1 is security. Enabling employees to connect their extension from anywhere means either deploying VPN (which adds many complications and decrease stability) or just giving access to your server(s) from the internet (which opens it to the variety of security threats). We’ve overcome this by providing a forefront infrastructure to the existed phone system so that there would be no need deploying VPN or opening the server(s) to the wild.

Problem #2 is call quality. Working not from corporate network means working form places where internet connection is not always stable due to a variety of factors (low Wi-fi/LTE signal, unstable ISP, etc.). Solution for problem #1 partly mitigates this by providing the closes route for a call to your phone system while packaging data very effectively using sophisticated Opus codec.

Problem #3 is the connectivity. In addition to the solution for problem #1 and 2, push-notifications is something that allows us to not miss an important call while working on the backyard. From our previous projects, we’ve accumulated huge experience in providing messaging communications to the thousands of users. This thing is vital and it just works.

And this is just scratching the surface. If you have any questions please ask what’s on your mind!

We are currently in closed beta and we’re hoping for support from the FreePBX community, so if you like what we do and like to keep it going, there is plenty of great stuff ahead, so please join it here - https://ringotel.co/shell

Can we use new FreePBX logo on our website?

$

@arroinie wrote:

Hi everyone,

Can we put a new FreePBX logo on our website which is for a commercial product?

Update 1: I know it depends on how it would be actually used. In our case for the purpose of mentioning that our product works with FreePBX.

Update 2: The Sangoma Trademark Policy (https://cdn.sangoma.com/wp-content/uploads/Sangoma-Trademark-Policy.pdf) states the following:

Sangoma generally does NOT consider use of the Sangoma Logos to be Fair Use because of the enhanced connection the logo implies; usage of logos is only authorized under a written licensing agreement

and

  1. Descriptive Use: Sangoma recognizes the principle that others use its Word Marks without
    necessity of an explicit agreement with Sangoma to refer to Genuine Sangoma Products. For
    purposes of illustration, you may use the word “FreePBX” (but not in Logo Form) to advertise that your company works with FreePBX or to describe the goods or services that you
    sell/develop as long as the usage does not risk confusing the public into believing there is an affiliation, sponsorship, or approval relationship between yourself and Sangoma or that you create Genuine Sangoma Software.

The above-mentioned implies that we cannot use FreePBX logo on our website without written agreement. Although quite vague, because there are no definitions of the “Sangoma Logos” (is it the logos of Sangoma Technologies Corp or all the trademarks owned by the company?) and the “Logo Form”.

I think the only way to solve this is

If you have any questions or comments, please contact trademarks@sangoma.com

Or maybe someone already did this?

Vega 60G FXO dial plan issue uk bt divert

@pricie1991 wrote:

Hi All,

In the uk bt supply a divert service, to active we dial {star}21{star} and to un-divert we dial #21#.
I have setup a dial plan that works for {star}21{star} however i’m unable to get #21# to work at all.

From freepbx we have a dial plan that goes user enters #1# or {star}21{star} this is translated to 1#21##1# or 1{star}21{star}{star}1{star}
This passes through to the vega 60g and should be picked up by the below dial plan but fails to work.

logs show call coming in to vega by bypass the dialplan above:

LOG: 16/06/2020 11:32:41.470 ROUTER (I)R0bC00 FINDROUTE profile:23(To_FXO) plan:2
call ref=[0224011f] <-- SIP [2,1] dest=NAME:1#21##1#,TEL:1
–> POTS [2,1] dest=TEL:1

does anyone have any ideas?

Cloud Phonebook

@ghowey wrote:

First Thanks for FreePBX, great open source product. Rolled out a Cloud Base System for a Small NPO spread across multiple sites. Really works well. However, I am trying to configure extensions (30-A25 Digium Phones) to retrieve data from “http://ipaddress/digium_phones/contacts-internal.xml” for a centrally managed internal phonebook. This would be advantageous (to say the least) compared to updating contacts on each extension. The individual phones do not complain of any issues upon configuration, but the Contacts do not appear. Browsing to the URL readily displays the contents of the “contacts-internal.xml” file.

Any insight would be appreciated!

D65 with EXP150 Expansion Module

Hey, everyone. I am using the Commercial Endpoint Manager to configure a D65 endpoint running firmware 2_9_8. I have an EXP150 expansion module which the D65 is supposed to support but I cannot get the expansion module to connect to the phone. It has a message that says to make sure the PC Port is set to 'Connect to an Expansion Module" but that is not an option for me on the phone. My only options under the PC Port configuration are Automatic, Disabled, and 10/100 Half/Full Duplex options. Any suggestions on how I can get the expansion module to connect?

Thanks very much.

Vega 60G abandoned calls

@pricie1991 wrote:

Hi All,

I’m having a issue where if a caller abandons the call before answered the line will continuously call until answered, resulting in dial tone.

I have tone detection enabled that partly works, however the lines will ring for a good 5-6 seconds after the call has been abandoned, before being dropped.

Call flow is:
UK BT Copper > Vega 60 > Freepbx > Queue > Users

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks
